About program
The Faculty of Aviation Engineering was founded in 1955. Until 1993, it was called aeromechanical. For a long time, he graduated engineers only for aircraft engine-building, but in the 90s such areas and specialties of training were added to them, such as foundry production of ferrous and non-ferrous metals, materials science and technology of new materials, the metallurgy of welding production, internal combustion engines.
Engineering specialty “Aircraft engines and power plants” contributes to the development of aviation, rocket production, and cosmonautics, which, being a clear reflection of technical progress, determine the level of economic development of any civilized country in the world. Engineers of this profile are developing new aerospace equipment and testing it, technological preparation and maintenance of new and serial products, so they successfully work in the structures of design, research, design, testing and technological preparation of aerospace technology, as well as service mass production.
The direction of undergraduate “Technical Physics” and engineering specialty “Thermal Physics” study the comprehensive aspects of applied physics, forming the foundation of general engineering training and the theoretical basis of engineering practice. Now there is no area of research that would not come into contact with its ideas and laws. These areas and specialties imply the preparation of students, which provides the most optimal system of their knowledge in various branches of technical applications of physics and mathematics. Graduates work as calculators – researchers in design organizations or teachers of exact disciplines (physics, mathematics) in educational institutions.
The widespread use of a wide variety of materials and modern technological processes for the production of castings in various branches of engineering requires the training of appropriate specialists – materials scientists and technologists – casters. This is the direction of the bachelor’s program “Materials science and technology of new materials” and engineering specialties “Materials science and technology of new materials”, “Foundry production of ferrous and non-ferrous metals”.
Graduates of materials science work in factory workshops, research laboratories, design departments, and offices in various engineering positions related to the development and implementation of technological processes for processing materials, conducting quality control of materials and products, as well as performing research on the properties of materials.
Foundry graduates apply their knowledge in experimental research laboratories to determine the chemical composition, structure, and properties of alloys, in the laboratories of physical methods of non-destructive testing, in foundry and thermal workshops of machine-building and metallurgical plants. Students who have a tendency to visual arts receive additional training in the manufacture of artistic castings, as well as household and artistic ceramics. This provides the possibility of their employment in the restoration and art workshops, small enterprises and firms of artistic design profile.
In almost all industries, welding production is an integral and indispensable part of the overall process of manufacturing products. By welding and soldering, the connection of individual parts into the overall design of products, machines or units is carried out. Especially widely technological operations of welding and soldering are used in the manufacture of the complex, hull and large-sized structures. Is it therefore worth it to speak once again about the demand for the engineering specialty “Metallurgy of welding production”, whose graduates work in machine-building enterprises in the departments of the main metallurgist, technical control, in metallographic and research laboratories, as well as in small enterprises and workshops where welding operations , soldering, plating, surface spraying.
